The 1st Waylen Bay Venturer Unit history goes back as far as when the 1st Waylen Bay Sea Scout Group commenced. The unit has become inactive and active again throughout these years but was last made active in February of 2007 at the start of the Semester 1. From here, the unit has grown to what it is today. Events, Courses, Camps and a whole lot of fun has made the unit what it is.
The 1st Waylen Bay Venturer Unit is one that stands a cut above the rest. Exceptional leaders and support helps to keep the unit running and operational. The 1st Waylen Bay Venturer Unit operates and participates in a variety of annual activities such as Swanabout, Master Mariners, general sailing, group events, JOTI, group camps etc. The unit prides itself on it's great attitude towards all members and events. No matter what the ability of any new member, come along and check us out and you will find yourself coming back.
The 1st Waylen Bay Venturer Unit has a constitution which all members must abide by. Within this constitution are our objectives:
- To provide opportunities to develop leadership skills
- To provide members with opportunities in social situations
- To provide activities suitable for all members challenging or otherwise
- To provide opportunities for members to learn to work harmoniously
- To provide opportunities for members to become involved in the community at local, state and international level.
